AirTrack 2.2 released with a new MFD, SID and STAR procedures, IVAO and many other things!
AirTrack 2.2 is out bringing a redesigned MFD, NAV/ADF guidance, enroute airways, SID and STAR procedures for the FMC and IVAO network support amongst several other things.
What's new in 2.2:
A brand new MFD with:

- New CTR and PLN modes.
- MAP mode now shows TRK (tracking) while VOR and APP show HDG (heading).
- NAV1/ADF1 NAV2/ADF2 navigation with VOR and NDB pointing bugs and radial lines.
- An AP source selector which determines which is the next waypoint's source; NAV1, NAV2 or FMC.
- A VAS (VOR-ADF selector) switch allowing you to toggle between NAV1/2 and ADF1/2 guidance.
- New symbols for different types of VOR.
- Low altitude and terminal navaids are now filtered out when the range is above 40nm.
- The number of allowed waypoints before EXCESS DATA is now lower.
- Runways and ILS localizers have now a new symbol with the runway/localizer direction and range drawn in accordance to its orientation.
- Tune in an ILS frequency in NAV1 or NAV2, select the appropriate NAV mode, capture the localizer at a 30 degrees cone within 10nm or 10 degrees within 18nms and you'll see the approach needles moving in APP mode.
- APP and VOR modes now display different information such as course or dialed radials.
- The snake now gives you rate of turn and where you will be in 30, 60 and 90 seconds.
IVAO Network:

In addition to VATSIM AirTrack now also supports IVAO, showing you who's around you in the MFD and the online controllers under COMMS / ATC.
More waypoint types with additional information:

The waypoints section now allows you to lookup and save not only aiports but also VORs, NDBs, FIXes, CWPs and cities.
Each waypoint type has different kinds of information ; a VOR will have its frequency, class and range, whereas an Airport now also includes transition altitudes and IATA codes when available.
New FMS data:

AirTrack now comes with an old Navigraph AIRAC cycle as FMS data and this is now the default. You can still use the X-Plane's 1012 AIRAC by selecting it under settings and you can now switch back between them. The X-Plane navigation data will give you exact matches with what's on the X-Plane simulator and the Navigraph AIRAC will have more up-to-date data as well as SID and STAR procedures.
You can of course always update to the latest AIRAC from Navigraph by purchasing a token on their website.
If you already had a recent FMS cycle, you will need to re-enter its access code and download it again; this is because the new data has additional information that was not available before. AIRAC cycles are now roughly 20MBytes each.
An improved FMC with:

- Enroute Airways Decoder (*) - Enter an entry point VOR, FIX or NDB in the FMC, then enter the name of an airway as the next waypoint and then another new point; AirTrack will now give you all the possible waypoints to exit from that Airway taking into account its altitude limits and allowed directions. Select an exit point and AirTrack will decode all the waypoints inbetween and add them to the flight plan.
- Runways and Localizers as waypoints - When looking up an airport you will now also be allowed to choose one of its runways or localizers as waypoints. Select one and see how it looks in the MFD.
SID and STAR procedures (*) - Lookup an aiport in the FMC and you will also be given its SIDs and STARs; select one and its points will be automatically added to the flight plan. For now only VORs, NDBs and FIXes are supported. Phantom RNAV waypoints, altitude turning points and arcs may be implemented sometime in the future.
- You can now add or remove waypoints to the middle of a flight plan. Just move the selector up or down and press NEW WP; the new waypoint or procedure will be added just before the selected waypoint.
(*) Note: Enroute airways and SID/STAR procedures are only available when you have the Navigraph FMS data selected. SIDs and STARs are not available in the X-Plane navigation data and while airways are, they lack sequence numbers and allowed directions which we used in the implementation.
Microsoft FS2004 and FSX support:

While not a specific AirTrack version feature, it is with 2.2 that we are introducing the new FS9 and FSX plugins so we might as well mention it here. Their first versions are now available for download.
Issues corrected:
#############
- For those with an iPhone or iPod 4 (and hence a gyro), you might have experienced ocasional sudden deaths. This bug has now been corrected.
- Position reports are back to the iPhone and iPod, sorry for the inconvenience.
- The flight plan drawn in the MFD is now more accurate when extending out of bounds.
- Some problems with nav data expiry have now been fixed.
- And tons of additional small bugs and problems corrected.
